When was the last time someone was amazed by your boldness?
I am truly grateful for the humbling privilege to lead this community. On Sunday, MikeWiens said he was encouraged by my boldness to obey Jesus in launching this new church community. I would quickly add that it was a bold step for many of you to say “yes” to Jesus and join me in this adventure. It was a bold step for Faith Covenant to say “yes” to commit $50,000 and celebrate with 22 people/families to go on a restoration mission. It may be a bold step each time you step out of your house/apartment/room to live for Jesus. I believe that if we continue to truly know who Jesus is and choose to follow him each day, then “boldness” will continue to be what others see.
If you are sensing boldness is not something that people see in your life, talk to God about it. I would not recommend simply trying to find some boldness. True boldness is not self-generated; it comes from being with Jesus (see Acts 4:13). Boldness is a byproduct of knowing who Jesus truly is.
I echo what Eric Langmaack challenged our life groups with this week: to take a step of boldness and personally invite someone to your life group and/or to worship this coming Sunday. Perhaps the people you have been praying for this past week? Make a personal invitation with a phone call, a knock on their front door or just casual personal interaction. The personal connection and invitation can be very powerful.
Pray for great things this week. Pray that boldness would be a natural overflow of our lives with Jesus.
Rob
P.S. Thank you for the gift last week!

Serving Opportunites
Westview Elementary School is still looking for a few ABC Teachers. There are 16 kindergartners who do not know their alphabet yet and they need our help! The school is looking for adults or high school students to work with these kids for 30 consecutive school days from 2:30-3:30 p.m. (15 minutes with 4 kids). You can commit to one or more days per week. You can start this week and work with the kids until November 23. Not available from 2:30-3:30? Westview is also looking for tutors in the Leap to Literacy Volunteer Program. Volunteers are needed to work on a regular (weekly) basis with a kindergarten or first grade student in a one-on-one situation to support literacy (both reading and writing). A time commitment of 30 minutes up to 2 hours on your volunteering day can be flexible with your schedule. Leap to Literacy will run from October through mid-May. On-site training, continual support and materials are provided. Morning and afternoon time slots are available. Lots of volunteers would be a huge help to the school.
